Hansa-flex aquries traditional house knapheide
HANSA‑FLEX is pleased to announce that at the beginning of April – subject to approval by the competition authorities – the company Knapheide (Beckum, North Rhine-Westphalia) will be acquired in the form of a strategic investment, bringing 400 new employees to the HANSA‑FLEX Group.
Knapheide is a supplier of hydraulic systems for well-known German machine manufacturers and realises a high double-digit million turnover. Due to disruptions in the global supply chains as well as price increases in energy costs, Knapheide was forced to reposition itself under the changed market conditions.
Nothing will change for employees or customers as a result of the takeover: all business processes and locations will continue to operate as before. Together with HANSA‑FLEX, the traditional values of a family-run German medium-sized company will be continued in a forward-looking manner.
Thomas Armerding, CEO and main shareholder of HANSA‑FLEX, adds: “We have known and valued Knapheide for many years as a successful market companion and are taking this well-considered step with the takeover, particularly in view of the opportunities for expansion and the associated future security for both companies and their employees”.
The processes and interfaces between the two companies will be synchronised in the coming months. The Knapheide name will remain in the market and will be continued in Knapheide Schlauchtechnik GmbH (KST) and Knapheide Solutions GmbH (KHS). The acquisition of the highly specialised hydraulics supplier Knapheide, which has enjoyed steady organic growth since its foundation, offers immense synergies for both sides. “With this strategic acquisition, HANSA‑FLEX is expanding its capacities in the series production area for the German original equipment business,” says HANSA‑FLEX Executive Board member Christian-Hans Bültemeier. The acquisition of the precision fittings production will strengthen the HANSA‑FLEX supply chain and thus support the company’s ambitious international growth plans. The production facility, which specialises in hydraulics and has numerous turning and milling centres, is ideally suited to round off the current HANSA‑FLEX product range.
For employees and customers, nothing will change as a result of the takeover: all business processes and locations will continue as before. Together with HANSA‑FLEX, the traditional values of a family-run German medium-sized company will be continued in a forward-looking manner.
